The conclusion of the series about “Kitchen Literacy”, the book by

Ann Vileisis, hosted by Rebecca Gerendasy of

“Cooking Up A Story”, online.  Part 3 covers new ways

of thinking about shopping, food production, and changes

in thought about food for the future.   This is an excellent

series, which shows the new trending in sustainable food production,

and shopping habits around the globe.

I watched both parts. Thank you for introducing these concepts of sustainability. I have learned a lot through this video series and have found other resources through it. Wonderful.

Wonderful interview, Monica. I really admire what you’re doing with this blog. Keep up the great work. Think I’ll look for the book the next time I go to the library.

That’s it: I’ll have to find a copy of the book!

I am a lot more careful about the produce I buy, now: I try to get it from the nearest possible source. And in the summer, sometimes that’s the garden outside (I love not having to buy a single tomato for a few months).

Thanks, Barbara. It’s something that involves all of us, and it’s worth thinking about around the globe. So pleased you will get a read from the library. I wouldn’t mind trying to get hold of the book myself!

So pleased you are keen to read the book, Joanne! It’s such a luxury to be able to go to the garden to get some things. I bet the tomatoes are just lovely in the summer!

After watching these videos I will be paying more attention to the foods that I am consuming. These days my work means that I am travelling more so I am going to make sure to learn more about regional farmesr markets. This is a fabulous use of blog. Eating well is a lesson that needs to be taught over and over. There are some wonderful ideas here.

Heather, it does fit in beautifully with what you are doing. I think I have a list or link I can send you. Thanks for these comments and I do agree with you entirely regarding food education.
